Pt. Reyes Weekend Backpacking

January 22nd-24th OR January 29th-31st
​ Point Reyes, Ages 12-17, Length 5-6 miles/day, Cost $600

This 2-night, 3-day weekend trip is being offered on two different consecutive weekends. These trips are designed to help participants connect with each other and the outdoors. Participants will learn about route planning & navigation, and have ample opportunities to build leadership and communication skills during this weekend getaway. These trips provide the perfect respite from a world filled with virtual connections.

MLK Weekend Backpacking
​
January 15th-18th, Point Reyes, Ages 12-17
Length 5-7 miles/day, Cost $800

Join us for 3 nights and 4 days of backpacking at Point Reyes National Seashore! This trip will combine both backcountry skills with a little bit of front-country cooking! The trip will focus on helping participants gain confidence and connect with peers. Trip activities will emphasize communication, team building & collaboration. Participants will also learn navigation and route planning. Additionally, participants will get to experience a fun barbecue feast on the second night of the trip at a more developed campsite.

Covid-19 Health & Safety Precautions

  • All participants are required to complete the pre-screening form for two weeks prior to the program
  • Participants are required to take a COVID-19 test as long as results can be obtained within a week 
  • All staff members will be tested before the start of the program
  • Participants will engage in safe social distancing practices
  • When safe social distancing cannot be maintained, all participants will be required to wear masks
  • If participants are transported in a vehicle, all individuals in the vehicle will wear masks and face shields and the windows will remain open to ensure air flow
  • Staff members and participants will use proper hand-washing, sanitizing, and hygiene practices at all times

Our Staff

Like with many things in life, it's all about the people. What sets FIELDGUIDES apart is its amazing team of hike leaders. All our staff are well trained in wilderness living and backcountry skills, with knowledge of the local terrain, and have exceptional skills working with youth in the outdoors. Each hike will have a certified lifeguard and all staff are CPR and Wilderness First Aid certified, or higher. Equally important, they are engaging, caring, and fun individuals who take great joy in the work they do. Their enthusiasm sets the tone for all FIELDGUIDES' adventures.
