Make this Spring Break a chance to get outside, disconnect from screens, and reconnect with peers and nature. Henry Coe's rugged oak covered hills and expansive wildflower rich meadows evoke feelings of being fully immersed in nature. Adventuring deep into the park and far away from crowds we will stretch our muscles, rewire our brains, and remind ourselves what it feels like to spend quality time connecting with ourselves and with others. Trips will focus on building confidence in spending time outdoors through learning about backpacking safely and how to live life out on the trail. While resetting ourselves we will also set aside time for building strong connections between all participants on the hikes, ones built to last long after the trip ends.
*All final trips and routes are dependent upon the continuously evolving State and National Park Service rules, regulations, and closures as they pertain to COVID-19 and the SCU fire complex.*

"Being outdoors with peers is the best treatment for the boredom, isolation and digital overload that kids have been going through since March. Thank you for going through all the hoops to set up a safe and fun outdoor immersion experience!" -Parent, Bay Area, CA

Like with many things in life, it's all about the people. What sets FIELDGUIDES apart is its amazing team of hike leaders. All our staff are well trained in wilderness living and backcountry skills, with knowledge of the local terrain, and have exceptional skills working with youth in the outdoors. Each hike will have a certified lifeguard and all staff are CPR and Wilderness First Aid certified, or higher. Equally important, they are engaging, caring, and fun individuals who take great joy in the work they do. Their enthusiasm sets the tone for all FIELDGUIDES' adventures.
