Point Reyes National Seashore

Trips along the Pt. Reyes National Seashore are some of our favorites because they provide a variety of fantastic programming options all within a 10-30 minute drive of the campgrounds. Pt. Reyes' proximity to the greater Bay Area also allows easy access for schools looking to cut down on transportation and maximize on time spent outside. This location is great as both an introduction to camping for elementary school students as well as a perfect spot for more rigorous week long excursions tailored to middle school aged students.

Program Activities

We customize our programs to meet your needs with our final itineraries reflecting your personal interests, educational goals, transportation options, and desired trip length. Check out some of the fun program options that can be part of your outdoor education experience at Point Reyes National Seashore!
  • Point Blue Palomarin Field Station: Get an up-close look at bird mist-netting, banding, and research methods.
  • Tide Pooling at Agate Beach:  Students get their hands wet with a ladder transect cataloging of the reefs diverse inhabitants.
  • Limantour Beach & Estuary:  Take in the stunning views of Drakes Bay and miles of coastline for investigative exploration and play.
  • Samuel P. Taylor State Park:  Go inland to explore & learn about the inspiring redwood forest ecosystem.
  • Bear Valley Visitor Center:  Tour the reconstructed Miwok village, Kule Loklo or hike along San Andreas fault zone Earthquake trail.

While many of our visits only last 3 days, limiting the amount you can do, you can take advantage of all of these great options with one of our 5-day programs. These longer visits are ideal for 5th and 6th graders and enable us to do all of the options mentioned above and have time for fun team building and leadership activities.
